RRR interchanges in unprecedented way

RRR interchanges in unprecedented way The Regional Ring Road (RRR) will be another gem for Telangana. The central government has granted national highway status to the 350-kilometer RRR project, which will be constructed in two phases, and land acquisition is progressing rapidly. The interchanges to be built as part of the Regional Ring Road are considered the centerpiece of this project. With each interchange to be constructed on 90 acres, the interchanges on the Regional Ring Road will be far more impressive than any other expressway in the country. The alignment for the RRR has been finalised, land acquisition for the northern part of the road has been completed, and the central government has already invited tenders.

The northern part of the Regional Ring Road will stretch 161.2 kilometers from Narsapur to Toopran-Gajwel-Jagadevpur-Bhuvanagiri-Choutuppal, while the southern part will start from Choutuppal, passing through Ameenpur-Shadnagar and extending to Sangareddy over a stretch of 189 kilometers. The Telangana government is preparing plans to construct townships in 12 areas where interchanges will be located. As part of the Hyderabad Master Plan, the state government, under the leadership of Revanth Reddy, is moving towards establishing satellite townships, especially around the interchange areas along the Regional Ring Road.

With industrial corridors set to be developed around the RRR, massive employment and income opportunities are expected. In these 12 areas where interchanges will be located, large junctions will be established, and private real estate companies are preparing plans for residential and commercial projects, along with the townships.

Officials state that, compared to expressways across the country, the main junctions of the RRR will be unique and massive. When compared to the cloverleaf interchanges built as part of the Outer Ring Road, the main junctions on the Regional Ring Road will be even more grand and modern. While the Regional Ring Road will currently be constructed with four lanes, there are plans to expand it to eight lanes in the future, making sure that the interchange structures are built to meet future needs.

Each interchange will be constructed on an area of approximately 90 acres, which indicates the massive scale of these structures. At the intersections where the National and State highways will cross, elevated corridors for the Regional Ring Road will be built with a width of almost 100 meters. At these crossings, Cloverleaf interchanges will allow vehicles to move from the existing roads to the RRR and also to the roads below. Additionally, these interchanges will be designed to connect with service roads as well.

The Regional Ring Road project will feature a total of 12 Cloverleaf Interchange structures across different areas. One interchange will be built between Peddapur and Girmapur villages on the Mumbai National Highway. Another will be constructed near Fasalwadi on the Nanded road, close to Shivampet. On the Medak Road, an interchange will be built between Reddipalli and Peddachintakunta. The fourth interchange will be located near Masayipet on the Nagpur road, close to Toopran. The sixth interchange will come up near Gundampalli in Gauraram on the Karimnagar Rajiv Road.

Another interchange will be built near Bhuvanagiri on the Warangal National Highway, between Bhuvanagiri and Rayagiri. On the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway, a new interchange will be constructed between Mandapur and Penumattivanipuran on Choutuppal Road. Another interchange will be coming up near Balanagar on the Bangalore National Highway, near Shadnagar. On the Srisailam road, a large interchange will be constructed near Amangal, about two kilometers from it. Additionally, the National Highways Authority of India is expected to finalize the alignment for three more interchanges soon.

In the Regional Ring Road project, a total of 12 interchanges are set to be constructed. According to real estate experts, large-scale real estate projects are expected to be developed around these 12 interchanges. They believe that in the coming years, the landscape around the Regional Ring Road will drastically change, with residential and commercial projects altering the area’s dynamics. This is seen as a great opportunity for the middle class looking to settle near the Greater City. Property prices in the vicinity of the Regional Ring Road have already risen significantly, particularly in areas near the RRR interchanges, where major real estate ventures are emerging. Real estate companies are gearing up to undertake construction projects in this area.
