The Revanth government, which is ready to take up land sales, has made another key decision. The government itself is stepping directly into the construction sector to fulfill the dream of owning a home for the common and middle-class people of Hyderabad. Officials say that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is paying special attention to this initiative. While the government is already implementing schemes like Indiramma houses and financial assistance for house construction, it has now taken a step towards developing townships. The satellite townships, which were planned during the Y.S. regime and continued by the BRS government, have now been announced to be continued by the Revanth government as well. The government will independently build and sell these satellite townships. However, it is well-known that the Congress government, which had similar plans in the past, initiated constructions but was unable to complete them until today. To see what will happen this time, we will have to wait and watch for a while.

Plans have been underway for some time to develop all sides of the city. As part of this, the government is collecting land in various areas, setting up layouts with all amenities, allocating land for all facilities, constructing apartments, and planning to sell them on behalf of the government. For this, the government recently allocated funds in the budget. In the first phase, Deputy CM Bhatti revealed that Rs 800 crores will be spent. After the Congress government came to power, they announced the Fourth City, stating that 30,000 acres have been prepared for it. However, this announcement faced many criticisms. Allegations arose that the Fourth City was only for the benefit of the CM, his brothers, and some real estate developers. In such a situation, the government changed its approach. Now, the government itself is embarking on the creation of new cities. These cities are planned to be developed with drinking water, drainage, wide roads, and pollution-free areas.
The focus has been on setting up special townships in all four directions of the city, including Medchal, Sangareddy, Shadnagar, and Ghatkesar, providing all amenities. The government has decided to establish a nodal agency under the leadership of the Chief Secretary for the integrated development of Hyderabad and for the permanent resolution of its problems. The decision includes constructing integrated veg and non-veg markets, town halls, roads, electricity, drinking water, and sanitation facilities, along with addressing permanent solutions for issues like sewage, drainage, potholes, floodwaters, inundation, and traffic in the constituencies, municipalities, and other major towns within the district boundaries. A roadmap will be prepared to ensure that the satellite apartments being constructed here will offer all kinds of facilities, like education and healthcare, similar to what is available in Hyderabad city, making these amenities more accessible.
The establishment of satellite townships on the outskirts of the city is not a new experiment. This step was first taken during the Y.S. regime. Later, during the previous BRS government, some land acquisition was also carried out. In Rangareddy district’s Kandukur Mandal, in Lemur, the government acquired 80 acres of land and created a map for the construction of a satellite township. After developing this land, they also mentioned that 60% of the plots would be sold back to the farmers. The remaining 40% of the land would be auctioned by the HMDA (Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority). Similarly, in the Inmul Narva area of Kothuru Mandal, the HMDA acquired approximately 75 acres of land through land pooling from local farmers. Here too, plots will be given to farmers, and the remaining land will be sold through auction.
Additionally, the e-City is located in 1,150 acres near Mucherla Pharma City, just 8 kilometers from the Sagar National Highway. The Adibhatla IT Hub is also located along the Sagar National Highway, close to the Outer Ring Road, making connectivity no issue. Initially, satellite townships were planned to be built under the Public-Private Partnership model, but now, it is reported that the government itself is directly entering the field.
