Resolving complaints Maharashtra RERA lags behind

  • Over 6000 awaiting disposal

Maharashtra RERA has been lagging far behind in the redressal of grievances. Ever since the RERA came into force six years ago, still 6,191 complaints are awaiting disposal. Even as the RERA is working to identify stalled projects, buyers are seeking to know whether there is any quick redressal mechanism by establishing more branches across the state. According to Maha RERA statistics, of the 19,000 complaints received only 12,961 complaints have been resolved.0

According to a buyer, 700 recovery warrants are still to be issued to the revenue authorities. The Maha RERA portal gives statistics on how many cases have been resolved so far, but is silent on pending cases. Moreover, status of the rest of the complaints is not given anywhere. Apart from this, buyers allege that more than 90 % of the orders are yet to be implemented.
