Registering agents for obtaining certificates, the RERA has decided to delay the process.
RERA has issued notices to real estate agents for failing to obtain the directed certificates. Since last year, RERA has been demanding registrations for real estate agents, who need to attend training courses and pass exams to acquire certificates. However, many have not complied. Therefore, RERA has decided to postpone the registration of 20 agents until further notice. Consequently, they are unable to carry out any real estate activities this year. While 47 agents were registered with RERA in Maharashtra last year, 20 of them are now prohibited from conducting any business. As a result, 42 percent of agents have distanced themselves from real estate dealings this year. They are acquiring the required training and certification as directed by RERA and will renew their licenses after uploading the certificates on the portal.
