Hearing a PIL against Assam RERA, Guwahati High Court served notices on A-RERA Chairperson and posted the matter for further hearing on Feb 3. In the PIL, it was complained that the A-RERA is not working in tune with Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act-2016. The petitioner said that as per the Act, the RERA should have its own portal, but the ASSAM RERA did not have one of its own. As per the rules, the people should be made aware through the portal that the projects have all the necessary approvals. The information in the portal should be updated periodically. Names of defaulters should also be found mentioned in the portal. But, the A-RERA did not have a portal.
