The School of Planning and Architecture at Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU) has announced the introduction of a new Master’s course in Energy and Sustainable Built Environment. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. N. Kavita Daryanirao said that this is the first educational institution to introduce this course in Telangana. Although some institutes outside Telangana are offering subjects related to it, this is the first time that it is being offered in Telangana. This full-time course is likely to start in September or October this year. Students will be provided with the help of industry and subject experts. As many as 20 people can get admission this year. Students are trained for the roles of Green Building Analyst, Renewable Energy Specialist, Environmental Policy Advisor, Energy Efficient Manager, Building Inspector, Sustainable Materials Researcher, Carbon Footprint Analyst, Climate Resilience Planner, Sustainability Specialist, and Sustainability Specialist. The VC said that the applications have already started. Any bachelor’s degree in B.Tech., B. Design., or B.Arch. will be eligible. The candidates have to be Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) qualified.
