A latest project by Neelam Kothari, one of Bollywood’s revered stars par excellence — she extended her artistic sensibilities to interior designing now and created a flat in World View Apartments. “It is a service apartment, had an unbridged option to transform it to an entertainment space and it was my most awaited transformation,” shares Neelam who is also a jewellery designer. She revealed to us that the space she got demonstrates luxury and grandeur but as she’s in the real world—she made it even more sophisticated. She continued, “Originally a 4BHK space, I converted the layout to 3BHK and the remaining bedroom was converted into a lounge by me. The living room is in quarter shaped!”
Her idea is, “Minimalist, modern yet engaging creativity of clean lines and vibrant pop of colours. When I saw the initial decor, it came on too heavy for me. It was inspired by flamingos. I added a pastel pink, green and blue accessory to make it more humanly. There are also grey marble and smoked sucupira veneer around it too.” Each bedroom is warm, inviting and elegant just how Neelam Kothari likes it. “There is also the addition of black ebony veneer and wooden floors accented with gold metal and grey glass. When it came to the master bedroom, added a touch of chevron wooden floor with grey tiles and metals. A designer mirror with frosted stripes is my way of giving a breakaway.”
Tints of aqua and blue in furniture, delivers vibrance all over! “I also wanted to create some drama for visual relief while one walks in the corridor because I have a keen eye for detail. You’ll also find sculptural lighting following an S Shape with books for holistic purposes.” Boasting of a wine chiller and study, Neelam is all about adding effervescent mood into the space she’s decorating these days.
When it comes to her own abode, the actress is all set to make a comeback soon is very classy in the way she embellishes. Her home is a perfect example of a contemporary architectural design: non-linear and adorned structures. The bar exhibits a taste with a rich design in flooring and wall paneling. The sleek and luxurious chairs and tabletop accessories add to the charm of the space! Thanks to her myriad innovations.
An open-plan living area with a sociable setting. Its muted, warm, earthy tones are gingerly chosen to accentuate the design language, and soft splashes of colours highlight particular elements and spaces. And, a sprawling terrace with an assortment of plants with their diverse foliage coupled with a soothing setup for a delightful Sunday brunch. “I am referring to the current style of architecture always. Unconventional is my idea to adorn my place. Breaking with the past and using my imaginations brought me here, that today I stand a chance to do interiors for other socialites too.”
