Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that alternative sources of income should be created by building townships on the empty lands owned by HMDA around the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road. HMDA wants to play a vital role in increasing the economy of Telangana. He conducted a review with the municipal department officials in his office in the secretariat as part of the budget formulation. On this occasion, he said, ”Through the construction of townships, employment opportunities will also improve. We need to mark the details of the road expansion mentioned in the master plan so it gives more scope to build houses on the right land, and the people need not demolish them later.”
“Mortgaged plots in layouts are left undeveloped. Focus on them. 39 lakh applications received under LRS should be dealt with speedily. Plots purchased through auction in industrial areas should be taken back if they are not used. If that is not possible, the government’s share should be obtained. In regards to the ponds in the HMDA area, a different number is said in each case. They should be recorded scientifically,” ordered Bhatti Vikramarka.
Late YSR had told itself earlier to start townships around the ORR; however, it hasn’t materialised so far. The newly elected Congress government is repeating the same old words. To set up satellite townships around ORR, one should know about the efforts made by the BRS government in the last ten years. Where did they collect the land? What stage is that process now? The process of creating satellite townships should start from where the previous government left off. Moreover, starting this process afresh will take time. Therefore, people want to complete this process as soon as possible and start the satellite township work.
