The Department of Municipal Administration has embarked on an exercise to prepare master plans for 80 urban development authorities (UDAs) and urban local bodies (ULBs). The state government focused on the tier-2 towns which are close to the HMDA and having a population over one lakh. The master plan includes the ORR, multi-use of lands, link roads and such other features.
The officials of the municipal administration department have said that the master plans are necessary as the state government has created over 70 municipalities of late. There is a need to revise the master plans for Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Ramagundam, Peddapalli since they have been evolved 20 years ago, they felt.
Besides new municipalities, UDAs of cities of Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Siddipet, Khammam, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Vemulavada Temple Development Authority, Yadadri Temple Development Authority have been created. Master plans for them are being created. In fact, 30 to 35 master plans have been readied. The authorities have been waiting for government clearance to the master plans.
K Raheja Corp Homes Chief Executive Ramesh Ranganathan opined that NRIs are looking towards Indian realty sector for investment as rupee value is depreciating. The RERA and digitization is helping channelizing investments into realty sector. NRIs living in the USA, Hong Kong, UK, Singapore and Malta are keen on investing in realty sector in India, he said.
