Some Bollywood actors, in spite of having the financial muscle to buy luxury homes, prefer to live in rented houses. Bollywood actors like Imran Khan, Kriti Sanon, Karthik Aryan, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, and others live in rented houses.
Imran Khan and his girlfriend Lekha Washington took a house on lease for three years, belonging to film producer Karan Johar, in Bandra, Mumbai, for a lease amount of Rs 9 lakh per month. They also paid Rs 27 lakh towards the deposit. Many Bollywood actors have been investing in real estate to earn rental income.
Many have the finances to buy homes but live in rented homes. Real estate experts analyse it as the non-availability of flats in their favourite places. Many seek to buy a sea-facing flat. Sometimes such apartments are difficult to get. In such a case, they take such flats on rent. Similarly, some actors who are at the beginning of their careers would not buy houses or flats for lack of a stable income. Under such conditions, they would not take a bold step to buy homes but live in rented houses, experts said.
Some actors first take an apartment on rent, live in it, and search for the flat of their choice. As and when such a flat comes on the market, they will immediately buy it. Some other actors buy apartments with the sole purpose of earning rental income. Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff bought a property in Pune for Rs 7.5 crore. He gave it on rent of Rs 3.5 lakh a month. Similarly, Bollywood actor Ranabir Kapoor leased his property in Trump Tower for a monthly lease of Rs 4 lakh. Big-B Amitabh Bacchan gave his duplex building in Mumbai on lease to Kriti Sanon for Rs 10 lakh a month. Further, Shahid Kapoor let out his sea-facing house to Karthik Aryan for a monthly rental of Rs 7.5 lakh.
