Here is sweet news for the residents of the first ever integrated township project in Palava city of Kalyan and Dombivli Municipal Corporation as the municipal corporation has decided to give a rebate of 66 per cent in the double property tax being paid by them. The Palava City Management Association has been imposing charges on the house owners for providing basic amenities on one hand, on the other, they have to pay taxes to the city civic body.
According to orders from Urban Development department of Maharashtra, given in 2016, if an integrated township has amenities like roads, street lights, garden, sewerage treatment facility, and transport and so on residents of the township are entitled for 66 per cent rebate in taxes., But the Palava city has these amenities, but the KDMC did not extend the rebate to them. As a result, the Palava city residents have to pay tax to the association and also the civic body.
