RegNews, Hyderabad, June 23: The Telangana government has appointed retired High Court judge Justice Anugu Santhosh Reddy as the new Chairman of the Telangana Real Estate Appellate Tribunal (TREAT). He officially assumed charge on Monday, presiding over proceedings alongside other Tribunal members. The Telangana RERA Authority extended a warm welcome to Justice Reddy on his first day in office, marking the beginning of what is expected to be a phase of strengthened judicial oversight in the real estate sector. Hailing from Joganpally village in Jagtial district, Justice Reddy comes from a family with a legacy of public service. His father, Late Shri Anugu Narayana Reddy, served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly. Over three decades, he rose through the ranks — from District Munsif to Senior Civil Judge, and eventually District Judge. Notably, he served as Additional District Judge at Siddipet, Law Secretary to the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments, and Member Secretary of the Telangana State Legal Services Authority. In March 2022, he was elevated to the Telangana High Court, where he served until his retirement in June 2023. Known for his administrative acumen and judicial integrity, Justice Reddy’s appointment is expected to bring depth and direction to the Real Estate Appellate Tribunal, which plays a key role in adjudicating disputes under RERA.
