Saudi Arabia to have the world’s tallest building Soon, the world’s tallest landmark, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, is going to lose its status to Jeddah Tower, being built by Saudi Arabia.
The construction of the Jeddah Tower has been grounded. The tower would also be called the Kingdom of Towers. Once the construction is through, Burj Khalifa will be relegated to history, and the Jeddah Tower will hog the limelight as the tallest building in the world.
The Jeddah Economic Company resumed the construction of the 3,281-feet tall tower. Once its construction is complete, it will tower over the Burj Khalifa by 568 feet. The tower would house a luxury hotel, office space, service apartments, and luxury condominiums. It would also house the tallest observatory in the world. The total area of the Jeddah Tower would be 5.30 lakh square meter’s, which translates to 5.7 million sft.
According to a conservative estimate, the cost of execution of the first phase of the tower would be $20 billion. The structure employs green technology and uses only green building materials. You can enjoy the scenic view of the Red Sea on all three sides from the top of the structure. The Sky Terrace would have a 30-metre diameter. The terrace, located on the 157th floor, is open to the public. The structure would house the world’s tallest observatory too.
