Jagan invites global Investors to come AP

  • CM takes part at Global Investors’ Summit curtain raiser event held in Delhi
  • Jagan tells participants AP is a heaven for investors

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has called upon global investors to come to Andhra Pradesh as the state is investor friendly and is forging ahead of states which are on path of development. As a prelude to the Global Investors’ conference to be held in Viakahapatnam on March 3 and 4, a curtain raiser event was held in Delhi in the name of Global Investors’ Summit-2023. Addressing representatives of 40 nations at the meeting, Jagan welcomed the investor citing innumerable resources in AP, including minerals and 974-km-long coastline.

Construction of six ports is under way in the four regions of the state, he said adding that three of the 11 industrial corridors – Vizag-Chennai corridor, Chennai-Bangaluru corridor and Hyderabad-Bangaluru corridor- are located in the state. In this backdrop, the CM invited the investors to the state with their investment plans.

The following advantages are there for investors in AP:

  • The executive capital of state is moving to Visakhapatnam which has global standards
  • A mega industrial hub is being located at Kopparti in an extent of 6739 acres. Similarly, an YSR electronics manufacturing cluster is being set up in 540 acres.
  • In Tondangi mandal of East Godavari district has been cleared by the Centre for establishment of AP Bulk Drugs Park and also offered Rs 1000 crore financial assistance to AP
  • Center approved establishment of multimodal logistics parks at Anantapur and Visakhaptnam. Discussions are under way to set up similar parks at Orvakal and Kopparti.
  • A mega food park has been developed by APIIC on a 7.48-acre site in Mallavallai village of Bapulapadu mandal of Krishna district.
  • Center will give grant to establish a power equipment manufacturing hub in 225 acres in Kopparti.
  • With the help of the Center, the APIIC has planned establishment of industrial parks. So far, 11 industrial parks have been established and 22 more are still on the drawing board.
  • The APIIC has established 534 industrial parks providing all amenities to industrialists.
  • AP is the only state to have four electronics manufacturing clusters in the country.
  • AP is one of the states that have fast developing automotive hubs. KIA Motors, Isuzu Motors, Hero Motors, Ashok Leyland, Apollo Tyres, Bharat Forge and several other prominent players in automotive industry have invested in AP.
  • The biggest integrated medical devices manufacturing park in Asia is located in Visakhapatnam
  • Out of the 250 bulk drug units in the state, 38 are recognized by the WHO and some other units have the United States Food and Drug Administration. The pharma wing in Andhra Pradesh has been playing significant role in improving productivity of the nation and exports from the country. This wing attracted investments over Rs 18000 crore during 2021-22. At the same time, it provided employment to over 88,984.
  • A new bulk drug park is going to be established in 1000 acres in Kakinada. The AP Environment Management Corporation Limited has been established for management of bio-medical waste and other wastes.
  • AP is one of the largest producers of cotton and ranked number two in production of raw silk and ranked number four in jute production.
