IT jobs multiply in Telangana

Finance Minister Harish Rao has maintained that the number of IT jobs has registered significant increase in Telangana. The number of IT jobs have increased to 8,27,124 current as against 3.23 lakh jobs in 2014. In his budget speech he said the IT jobs in the state have increased by 156 percent, while IT exports from the state rose from Rs 57,258 crore to Rs 1,83,569 crore, he said. He put the allocations in budget of 2023-24 to the IT and Communications department at Rs. 366 crores. He explained that IT towers have been built in Warangal, Karimnagar and Khammam to expand the IT to Tier-2 cities. They are also under construction in Nizamabad, Mahbub Nagar, Nalgonda and Siddipet. They are likely to become operational next year.

* According to the Telangana Socio-Economic Survey, IT exports have increased significantly in the state, he said.
