Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has introduced an interest subsidy scheme for property tax defaulters. It has been announced that an interest subsidy is being given to those who have not paid tax until now. This opportunity will be available from February 15 to March 31. It has been revealed that for the years 2022–23, there will be a 100 percent interest subsidy on property taxes calculated as per the new rule. It explained that in the case of properties coming under the old formula, slum and chawl dwellers will get a 100 percent interest subsidy. It said that a 75 percent interest concession would be given on property taxes for flats and bungalows and a 60 percent interest concession on commercial properties. Meanwhile, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has issued notices to 221 offices asking them to pay property tax. Also collected Rs. 17.38 lakhs as part of the tax collection drive.
