Domestic companies’ share reaches 47%

CBRE report revealed

There is a significant surge in office space usage among domestic companies. The share of domestic companies in office spaces has notably increased. Before 2022, domestic companies accounted for one-third of the total office space in nine major cities across the country. This has now risen to 47%. According to a report by real estate consultant CBRE, in the 154 million square feet of leasing transactions from 2022 to the first six months of 2024, domestic companies occupied 72 million square feet (47%).

The report provides statistics for cities including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Kochi, and Ahmedabad. These figures reflect the commitment of domestic companies towards growth and expansion of business activities. CBRE India Chairman and CEO Anshuman Magazine stated that the share of domestic companies in office spaces is expected to increase further in the coming years. He explained that Indian companies are prioritising high-quality and comfortable work environments to meet evolving business needs. He also noted that an additional 189 million square feet of premium office space will be available in the top nine cities by 2026.
