Convenience and security with technology preferred
Imagine you locked the house and went out, and after travelling some distance, you asked yourself if you had turned off the stove, lights, and more. The use of technology to check such things has increased now. The trend of installing automation facilities in homes is gradually increasing. New home buyers, as well as existing home buyers, are showing passion for these.
Home automation is the automation of safety- and comfort-related tasks through a smart system installed in a house or building. In other words, it means adding technology to your home. One of the main benefits of home automation is energy savings. ACs, lights, and fans can be operated from outside the house. This saves electricity. It also plays a major role in security. If you have a cell phone in your hand, you can turn on and off electrical devices in the house from anywhere in the world. Locking and unlocking doors can also be done from outside. If someone enters the house without permission, an alert message will be sent to your cell phone immediately. With the help of CCTV cameras, it becomes easy to observe the situation near the house and file a complaint with the police. Also, when a relative or friend comes to visit us, even if we are not at home, we can treat them as guests. You can open the doors and ask them to go inside and turn on the lights and ACs in the house. You can also turn on the geyser. With the help of food delivery apps, food can be ordered and served to guests. All this is possible with home automation.
Home automation or building automation…
There are types of automation. Home automation is the setup for shared and family homes. Apart from that, if it is set up for hotels, shopping malls, hospitals, etc., it is called building automation. Wireless home automation systems work with radio frequency waves. It is easy to install, as no wiring is required. A wired home automation system works through cables. It is not only safe, but also efficient and sustainable. But the wiring will require some work.
There are three types based on performance. They are centralised architecture systems, distributed architecture systems, and mixed architecture systems. A central controller is installed in a centralised architecture. It receives the information we give it, processes it, and directs it to the necessary device. Usually, it is used in wired home automation. In a distributed architecture, the control device is not centralised. Information is then distributed to all modules that process and execute commands. It is used in both wired and wireless systems. In a mixed architecture, small devices are placed throughout the house to process information and send it to other devices. It is a wireless system.
