HYDRA resolves 60-year-old dispute
  • Encroachments cleared in Yellareddyguda
  • Complaint filed in Praja Vani regarding issue pending since 1961
  • Immediate response from HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath

HYDRA, known for its firm action against encroachments and violations, has swiftly resolved a six-decade-old issue. Officials cleared encroachments on a park near Madhura Nagar Metro Station in Yellareddyguda, reclaiming 1,533 square yards of park land.

Back in 1961, a layout was developed over 5 acres under the name "Sai Sarathi Nagar," in which 1,533 square yards were earmarked for a park. However, the heirs of Narayana Prasad, who developed the layout, illegally occupied the park land by erecting a shed and even obtained a house number for it through unauthorised means.

Despite multiple complaints by local residents to the GHMC, no action was taken. Finally, representatives of the Sai Sarathi Nagar Residents Welfare Association lodged a complaint through the Praja Vani public grievance platform, prompting immediate action from HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath, who ordered a thorough investigation.

HYDRA officials, in coordination with various departments, confirmed the encroachment and cleared it completely. With this, HYDRA has effectively brought closure to a 60-year struggle.
