Rs 100 crore apartment generating just Rs 75,000 in monthly rent
There’s no need to explain Mumbai’s real estate market in detail—property prices and rents are already known to be extremely high, even for a small single-bedroom flat. So can you believe it if a Rs 100 crore apartment rents for just Rs 75,000 per month? Surprisingly, it’s true.
Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan gifted this property to his girlfriend. In 2020, he purchased three floors (18th to 20th) in the premium luxury project Mannat Apartments on Juhu Versova Link Road for Rs 97.5 crore. The combined area of the three floors is 12,000 sq. ft. Recently, he leased this property to his girlfriend Saba Azad for a monthly rent of Rs 75,000 with a deposit of Rs 1,250. Compared to typical Mumbai market rates, this is extremely low; for example, another flat on the 6th floor in the same building rents for Rs 10 lakh per month (as per a 2023 agreement). Clearly, Hrithik offered this rent as a personal gesture rather than a commercial arrangement.
Meanwhile, in May this year, Hrithik, along with his father Rakesh Roshan, sold three properties in Andheri, Mumbai, for Rs 6.75 crore. In July, he also purchased three office units in the Chandiwali area of Mumbai for Rs 31 crore.
