Heavy investments flow in second quarter

Private equity investments flood the real estate market in India. In the second quarter of current year, 2022, the quantum of investments received are put at Rs 5600 crore, according to renowned property consulting organization Savills India. Economies of several countries have collapsed in view of the prevailing global scenario. In spite of the inflationary tendencies and increase in the prices of essential commodities, the flow of investments is continuing in Indian Real Estate Market.

The investments are directed to office leasing and other such activities. In 2017, the flow of investment was put at US $ 7.7 billion in 2017. However, it dipped to US $ 6 billion in 2018, registered slight increase in 2019 to US $ 6.7 billion. In 2020, there is a marginal decrease in the flow to US $ 6.6 billion. However, it nosedived to US $ 3.4 billion in 2021. In the first quarter of 2022, the flow of investments in the domestic realty market was put at US $ 1 billion. However, the flow of investments was only US $ 704 million in the second quarter of the current year.
