Havelis for lavishness..! Ahana Dream Home

The web-space diva Aahana has completed a major milestone — she owns her own dream home today. Purchasing a home is always a way to build generational wealth and she’s on it. Home ownership isn’t out her reach anymore! When in an exclusive conversation with the newly turned proprietor, she spills the beans to us, “I bought a house of my own, just last year and an incredible momentum moment for me. Grew up in Lucknow, was living at Madan Mohan Malviya Marg & it was one of the oldest neighborhoods of the city. We also had a home in Gomtinagar — with a lawn, terraces of our own. During winters we would sleep there on the cots inside a mosquito net, like any other simple individual! And then in summers, we used to have our sun-bathing moments in the lawn. I also had the duty of drying pickles out there, I miss all of this after I came here. Wherever you turn, you have apartments in Bombay — where’s your cozy home?”

Seated amongst her closest peers in the new abode, while Aahana was giving us this interview, they had a moment of good laughter on minimalism v/s lavish. And Avrodh fame says, “I spent a bomb to make a minimalistic apartment (she laughed out loud). Havelis call for lavishness, not a flat! Buying a home for myself was a key to my happiness, and I did the desired renovation without the much clutter.” Throwing an interesting question towards her on what sort of house does she prefer to which she excitedly tells, “I wish for a villa someday — I’ll make it look like a million bucks. I have always grown up in bungalows, so my heart lies there. It had teakwood and marble, extravaganza. I wasn’t filthy rich but my parents knew on how to add some drama without the cash burn. I even like having a porch & a garage, full-fledged home. Ultimately, it’s not about the money — it’s about how do you like spending your time.”

Daring to be different, the actress continued her thoughts, “I can’t afford a bungalow right now, yet with my cozy apartment I am breaking away from the monotony. I have given it an European look—brought accentuating colors. It’s still very sober, haven’t gone crazy with the interiors! You can’t call it OTT! My interior designer made sure I don’t have anything that’s more of a dust collector.” Defining her mood now, she speaks, “Even though, it’s extremely hot in here — I still prefer having my ‘me-time’ in the balcony with a cup of coffee. People has to remind me to come inside, shut the door and draw the curtains. If given a chance, I would love to have a home in Tokyo! Or London, the cottages there catapult in different spaces. I have done my shootings there. But the emotionally sensitive woman in me wants to begin with Lucknow because we had to sell our ancestral home.”

Any other celeb home she admires, she seals the deals on Amitabh Bachhan’s home — “He calls me for most of his Diwali parties, Diwali is around the corner so I miss seeing him and spending some time with his family at Jalsa. Even their cutlery is so lovely! They have kept the Indianness intact. I am such a fan of marbles from their home!”
