The state government has announced a discount of 90% on the interest on property tax applicable not only to taxpayers in the GHMC but also to those who live in other towns and cities. The discount applies only to those who completely clear the property tax until 2022–23. The government said that it introduced the one-time settlement scheme (OTS), imposing 10% interest on old dues. The scheme is also applicable to those who clear the property tax by March 2023. 90% of the interest paid by them would be deducted from the property tax to be levied in the next year. The government has appealed to people to make use of the facility, as there is only one month to pay the property tax.
