Good News for house construction… Free sand from the government

The government has decided to provide 4.50 lakh cubic meters of free sand for the construction of Indiramma houses, with a supply of 3,500 cubic meters per constituency starting this month. In the 2025-26 financial year, a total of 112 cubic meters of sand will be provided to the beneficiaries.

The authorities will deliver the sand without any seniority charges or transportation fees for the beneficiaries. On Friday, the government issued internal orders to the district collectors regarding these guidelines. The guidelines specify how much sand each district will need on a quarterly basis and provide details on how the sand supply will be managed.

For the fourth quarter of the previous year, 25 lakh tonnes of sand are being supplied. In addition, for the 2025-26 financial year, 25 lakh tonnes of sand will be supplied in the first three quarters, and 12 thousand tonnes will be supplied in the fourth quarter.

The government has recognised that 13.06 lakh tonnes of sand will be required in Hyderabad, and this sand will be sourced from Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Karimnagar, and Rajanna Sircilla districts. In other districts, sand will be supplied from local resources. For each Indiramma house, 25 cubic meters of sand will be provided.
