Godrej properties expands into tier-2 cities

Godrej Properties Limited is set to enter Tier-2 cities in South India, including Mysore, Mangalore, and Hosur, alongside Bengaluru. The company plans to invest Rs 30,000 crore in projects covering 21.9 million square feet by FY 2025, with the aim to complete and deliver 15 million square feet of construction.

CEO Pramod Bisht noted that while Bengaluru remains a key market, Hyderabad will see premium and luxury project launches in 2024. Godrej Properties has acquired 12.5 acres in Rajendra Nagar and three acres in Kokapet, targeting revenue of approximately Rs 3,500 crore. Bisht emphasized that South India offers a stable market with strong, sustained demand compared to other regions.

‘We will strengthen disaster management’

Revenue Minister Pongulati Srinivas Reddy stated that the disaster management system will be strengthened. He held a meeting with nine departments at his office in the Secretariat. During the meeting, the minister emphasized that efforts are being made to enhance the disaster management system to reduce loss of life and property during disasters and to handle sudden emergencies. He noted that for the first time in ten years, an action plan for floods is being prepared. The minister instructed officials to develop action plans for floods at both the state and district levels for every department related to flood management.
