To boot, she communicates, “I can’t overdo the decor. Style should be eternal! Nor expensive interiors will seal the deal for me. Timeless classics are always refreshing. Minimalism is very important to me. A forever piece is a forever piece; it should be something like this.”
She’s currently residing in MUMBAI and swears to never buy a bungalow there. Why, we’d asked! She responded, “Not just Mumbai, any metropolitan cities for that matter of fact. A holiday home in Goa would do! Exquisite beaches and delicious seafood will allow me to enjoy my holidays so thoroughly. I don’t even want to be surrounded by servants because, ultimately, it becomes a burden. I absolutely love green spaces! There is something about greenery that is so rejuvenating to the senses and soul.
Even a white wall increases purity in your house. It’s mentally sane! And then nothing can beat personal touches—memories in the form of photographs. Just because some decor items are trending and fancy and celebrities are encapsulating them, I wouldn’t go for the same. That’s just not me. I am not infatuated with fanciness in real life at all. I don’t make statements with furnishings! And the kind of whiteness I want will definitely evoke a sense of calm.”
On a final note, RUDHRAMADEVI fame renounced, “Celebrity homes look dreamy only in magazines. So during lockdown, I rented a traditional Kerala home on the banks of the river. Kerala architecture was included in that home—I seriously love that lifestyle. Ventilation is overlooked due to air conditioning these days.”
