Five tenders for DPR in south part of RRR

The Telangana government has opened the bids for the DPR (Detailed Project Report) tenders for the prestigious Regional Ring Road (RRR) South part. It is reported that five companies have submitted tenders for the RRR DPR.

Last year, on November 25, 2024, the state government invited tenders under the International Competitive Bidding method. However, despite a one-month deadline, no bid was submitted. As a result, the government called for tenders a second time for the Regional Ring Road DPR, with a deadline of the 9th of this month. Upon opening the bids, it was found that five companies had participated, according to R&B sources. Officials are now preparing to fully review the tenders within 10 days without any delay. After considering the technical aspects, the company that submits the lowest quote will be entrusted with the DPR work. The selected company will need to provide the state government with a report on all details related to road alignment, land acquisition, government and private land, compensation, junction designs, bridges, underpasses, and more. Meanwhile, the Telangana government has also invited another tender for the financial management required for the RRR South part, with the deadline set for the 24th of this month, officials have confirmed.

The tender process for the construction of the RRR Northern Part road is currently ongoing. The central government has decided to carry out the Northern section works in five packages. The plan is to construct a 161.5 km long, four-lane, access-controlled Greenfield Expressway from Girmapur in Sangareddy district to Tangadpalli in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. The estimated total cost for the Northern section is Rs 7,104.06 crores. The deadline for submitting the tenders ended on February 14, and the tenders will be opened on February 17. The central government will select companies that submitted technical and financial bids online, based on the lowest quotes for the construction of the RRR project. The northern part of the project, from Girmapur in Sangareddy to Tangadpalli, will be built. Due to land acquisition issues, the tender process has been delayed. Currently, 95% of land acquisition has been completed. The central government has decided to complete the RRR Northern section road by 2028, within the next three years.
