First Wooden Housing Project in Hyderabad

Chevella MP Ranjit Reddy has said that Telangana occupied the number one in real estate development in spite of it being the youngest state in the country. Participating as the chief guest in the Max Projects’ Canada Wooden Housing project inauguration at Maheshwaram near Hyderabad on Friday, he said that the state emerged as the front runner in all sectors of activity like IT, Pharma, education and agriculture. That is why he appealed to investors to come forward to invest in more projects in Telangana.

In the yore, the country had a rich cultural heritage of building homes using mud, cow dung and timber. Unfortunately, the timber was destroyed but trees were never grown, he said adding, in sharp contrast, Canada improved its timber production.

 

Those who want to buy the timber houses should not hassle over the prices, he felt.   The maintenance of such houses would also be very high. Architects would have a lot of scope to add several features to such timber houses. He asked the Canada to hand over the timber house technology to the state. He offered to use his good offices in import of timber from Canada.

High commissioner for Canada in Delhi Andrews Smith expressed Canada’s willingness to work jointly with the Government of Telangana on a long-term basis. Smith said that his colleague Vikram Jain gave an assurance in this regard. The High Commissioner thanked Nasir Ali Khan for starting Canada wood Housing project. Andrews Smith says that he is very curious to know about the project as he himself is an architect. He put the quantum of bilateral trade at dollars 100 billion. The bilateral business grew by 62 per cent in the last five years. Max projects MD Nasir Ali Khan urged the state government for subsidy to those who buy timber houses. He wanted the government to give concession in stamp duty, property tax and so on.
