All types of agreements online
Special drive on notary documents
Government to validate notary documents
The Telangana state government is working to increase revenue through the Stamps and Registrations Department. To this end, it is preparing to implement an e-registration system. A special drive will be conducted to validate notary documents and facilitate their registration. Moving forward, a special procedure will be introduced to enable the online application of all types of agreements, aiming to significantly boost registration revenue.
The Telangana government is planning revolutionary changes in the Revenue and Registrations Department, with a complete overhaul of the Stamps and Registrations sector. In this context, the Revanth government is set to launch a special drive targeting documents that have been notarised but not registered. The plan includes collecting stamp duty on these unregistered documents and validating them, which would not only generate additional revenue for the government but also make these validated documents usable in courts.
Typically, agreements such as Sale Agreements and Sale Deeds are notarised. However, there are countless notarised documents that remain unregistered. The government is preparing to conduct a special drive for the validation of these notarised documents, similar to initiatives for traffic fines, without imposing any penalties. Additionally, there are plans to authorise informal agreements.
Recently, Telangana government officials studied the stamps and registrations system in Maharashtra. Based on this, they reported recommendations for implementing similar changes in Telangana. Following the Maharashtra model, the Telangana government has decided to make e-registration available for lease agreements, rental agreements, purchases, sales, and other contracts under the Stamps and Registrations Department.
This initiative aims to provide authorised documents to consumers while generating additional revenue for the government. In case of disputes or legal issues between parties involved in these agreements, it would offer a means to resolve them. Moreover, the government is designing a new system to allow not only regular agreements but also advertising contracts made by film heroes and artists with various companies to be applied for online through the Stamps and Registrations website.
