Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s Order
Integration with Bandar-Kakinada Ports
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy suggested that the construction of the dry port should consider the Machilipatnam and Kakinada ports, and prioritise understanding how these ports, along with the Andhra Pradesh government’s preferred routes, will benefit Telangana. He emphasised that a detailed study should be conducted before designing the Greenfield highway.
During this discussion, the topic of inland waterway routes came up. Officials informed that the central government is giving priority to rail and waterway-based inland water routes. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials to study if such routes exist anywhere else in the country, their success rates, and whether there is a realistic chance of proposals becoming tangible projects. He instructed them to submit a report as soon as possible.
