Thinking of a dream home? Just like Donal Bisht, just go for it! But before that, we were eager to go back into her past for a little while and she dug deep with us too. She recollected how her family bought their first house in Alwar!
“I am born & brought up in Rajasthan & major part of my childhood has been spent there. I have grown up in the lap of royalty because that state is home to some of the richest cultures and celebrations in the world. We would have peacock coming on our terrace, decorated elephants and camels can be seen quite often on the streets and then it is surrounded by forts because my birthplace is called city of forts.
We later moved to Delhi due to my father’s business and currently reside in a plush modern home which one of the best properties in NCR. My friends often call it as a holiday home.” Also, she owns an estate in Uttarakhand, Chamoli and her home is on the top of the hill and that has the most scenic view with fruits and vegetables growing all through the year. She continued, “So in childhood, summer vacations meant shifting base to Chamoli between lap of nature Also, as someone who’s extremely close to the family for me home is the best place to be. Most simplest memories are the best memories with the parents and grandparents because they are the most special in my trove of possessions. Every moment counts!”
She totally prefers a ‘green den’. She says, “I love nature. It allows me to think, breathe, stay mentally fit and live positively. I would love to disperse plants around the house and cover it in a blanket of green. And classy has always been my style. As someone with minimalism yet classy & spacious area appeases to me. Space to be by yourself while you are with the people you love and find your safe haven in.” Used to living in luxury homes only, the Bigg Boss fame will continue the tradition — “A bunglow allows me my privacy as well as gives me a sense of belonging with the larger community. Not too fond of the concrete flat system because I feel it cramps you up. I would follow the green code for my house and would have my own version of the botanical home. Also, I would love to have a self-sufficient home that has its own pool, library, gym, meditation room, music corner and a generously accomodating walk-in closet.”
Opening more about her dream home, she discloses, “My dream home will be on a private Island & just be an extension of my personality. Calm, serene, all-encompassing and fuss-free. It will have a splash of different themes and colors in different corners. Basically it’ll be a retreat center and an entertainment zone catering to varied needs. Exquisite artworks will adorn the walls and decoration plants will add a pop of freshness and tranquility. Reminiscent of my childhood and a portrayal of my transition as an individual, it will project the various facets of me. This home will be a my space to whoever visits it, a place that resounds our warmth, makes you feel loved and at ease.”
As someone who’s blinker-focussed on work at the moment, she thinks she will end up spending a lot of time in the library devouring scripts and literature & theatre room to watch the world cinema that impact her performance and work. Also, her guilty pleasure is her closet space! And, “The vibe of the place is critical. The layout and the location should resonate with you. Colors play a very important role and last but not the least, the combination needs to come from within—it needs to be love at first sight. I am of the school of thought that your home should reflect your taste, preferences, personality and efforts. I would love to self design my dream home and bring the concept to life albeit with some expert help to enable me to achieve it optimally. Interior designing feels best when the whole family gets involved and brings your vision to reality. There’s no home like the one built in love and togetherness.”
Lastly, “I am not sure about Hyderabad but know that property prices are skyrocketing by the minute. But it’s also interesting to see the youth contribute significantly to the real estate sector. We are the generation that truly believes in the #YouDoYou way of life and obsess over building our own legacy.”
