Cantonment to have eight zones

  • Proposal moved by Cantonment Board for the land use

The Secunderabad Cantonment Board authorities have proposed a plan on the land use in the Cantonment area. They divided the vacant land in the area into eight zones. They have classified the land as residential, commercial, mixed use zone (residential-cum-commercial), limited mixed use zone (road facing residential and commercial areas), zone for the EBCs, institutional area zone, green zone, army or defence zone. The board meeting unanimously approved the decision.

The decision would be sent to Defence Estates Principal Director’s office in Pune. Once it was ratified by the Pune office, the decision would be announced officially. From hereafter, the Cantonment Board has decided to collect a fee of Rs 400 per square yard from property owners towards development charges for stilt, cellar, and basement floors.
