Consumer Disputes’ Redressal Commission of Thane District imposed a fine on the builder to pay Rs 30,000 to each of 45 buyers for its failure to implement the sale deed. The commission gave this ruling in a complaint against Paranjape Construction Company. In 1986, several have booked 410 sft flats in a company housing scheme at Vasai of Palghar district of Maharashtra state. To book the flats, each buyer has paid Rs 95,000. Though the buyers are living in the flats, yet the company failed to implement the sale deed. So, they served notices on the company. As the company did not respond, they approached the Consumer Complaints Redressal Commission. Hearing both sides, the commission directed the company to pay a compensation of Rs 30,000 to each buyer and immediately implement the sale deed.
