Mumbai Crime Branch police arrested a builder for having cheated a doctor to the tune of Rs 3.85 crore in a property transaction. On the basis of a complaint lodged with the police by one Kailash Kothari, the police arrested Deepak Lohana of the realty group. He was sent for judicial remand till July 3.
The doctor entered into an agreement with the Sai Builders in 2007 to buy a flat. But, it was discovered that the documents shown by the builder in the transaction were fake. The builder demanded payment of an additional Rs 5 crore to transfer the property after 15 years. On the basis of a complaint from Kothari, the police arrested Lohana.
