Amazon Web Services Plans to invest Rs 36,300 crore by 2030

  • Discloses its expansion plan

Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao has welcomed the Amazon Web Services Asia-Pacific decision to expand its web services infusing additional investments in to the project. The Hyderabad-based firm has plans to expand services by investing Rs 36,300 crore by 2030. Taking part in the Amazon Web Services Empower India programme held at HICC in Hyderabad from Davos through video conference, KT Rama Rao exuded confidence that Hyderabad will emerge as the headquarters for Data Centers with the huge investments proposed to be made by Amazon Web Services. He offered his full support to the Amazon expansion plans.

The Amazon Web Services has established its data centers in Chandan Valley, FAB City and Pharma City areas to provide the best of the cloud computing services to its customers. The first phase of the three data centers has been through, bringing the cloud computing services to the within the reach of the customers. The Amazon Web Services has decided to make an investment of Rs 20,096 crore in the first year (2020). But as part of further expansion of the data centers, the investment has been augmented to Rs 36,300 crore in phases. Hyderabad emerged as the investment capital of Amazon, which established the largest web services campus and also fulfillment centers in Hyderabad.
