Twenty years ago, the construction industry was such that builders would construct houses and apartments as they liked in areas they found suitable and by their personal preferences. However, bringing all the builders together under one umbrella, the CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India) association was established. This association brought builders together as members, set up organisations in various states, and provided the necessary advice and guidance for the growth of the sector.
Alongside this, it also provided technical assistance to both the central and state governments, helping to resolve numerous issues faced by the construction industry. The association kept its members updated on modern practices and developments. There is no doubt that CREDAI has played a crucial role in the growth of the construction industry in our country, which has developed steadily over time. CREDAI has been key to the growth of the Indian construction sector over the last two decades.
Real estate is not just about buildings construction. The realty sector also involves vision, development, and collaboration. CREDAI National serves as a guiding force for this construction industry in the country. Established in 1999, CREDAI has been a witness to many changes in the Indian real estate sector over the past 20 years. By embracing technology and observing international changes in the construction industry, CREDAI provides the necessary advice and guidance for the growth of the Indian real estate sector. Its goal is to further develop this sector. Not only has CREDAI worked hard over the past 25 years, but it also looks forward to the next 25 years, embracing challenges and continuing its work.
CREDAI is the apex body for private real estate developers in India. CREDAI, known as “Building the Nation,” was established in 1999. For the past 20 years, it has been serving the Indian construction industry. By embracing technology and keeping up with global changes in the construction sector, CREDAI provides the necessary advice and guidance for the growth of the Indian real estate sector. Its goal is to further develop the sector. To share its achievements, as well as future plans and insights on changes in the construction industry, CREDAI organises an annual event called “NatCon.” So far, CREDAI has conducted NatCon editions in cities such as Dubai, London, Egypt, and Sydney.
In this annual event, CREDAI organises key speeches, panel discussions, innovative workshops, and exhibitions, featuring prominent figures from various sectors such as developers, architects, government officials, leaders from the finance and banking sectors, investors, and technology experts. Through these activities, CREDAI takes on the responsibility of promoting the Indian real estate sector globally. By organising events at the international level, CREDAI engages in marketing and promotional activities to attract foreign investments to the construction sector. Additionally, CREDAI supports governments in implementing impactful policies such as RERA (Real Estate Regulation and Development Act), Housing for All, and the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme. For the past 25 years, alongside CSR activities, CREDAI has contributed to social responsibility by providing donations during natural disasters.
Real estate and infrastructure development are interdependent. Therefore, CREDAI is not limited to just the real estate sector but also provides the necessary assistance, cooperation, and information regarding infrastructure projects undertaken by the central and state governments. CREDAI regularly provides reports to governments on the methods that can accelerate the growth of the infrastructure sector and the modern practices to be followed in construction.
CREDAI aims to make the real estate sector gender-neutral. To achieve this, it has set up both a Youth Wing and a Women’s Wing. CREDAI is also organizing programs to raise awareness about the latest trends in the global construction industry and modern technologies. With the construction sector already playing a key role in the national economy, CREDAI has set the goal of making the construction field number one in the next 20 years.
