18 companies… Rs. 1.17 lakh crore transactions

Godrej Tops with property sales worth Rs. 22,527 crore

Property sales in India saw a significant surge. In the fiscal year 2023-24, 18 real estate companies conducted transactions worth Rs. 1.17 lakh crore. Godrej Properties topped with transactions worth Rs. 22,527 crore. In the preceding year, amidst the pandemic, many real estate companies had scaled back their ambitions, but they have now re-entered the market with renewed vigor. Driven by increased demand for luxury homes and residential properties in all major cities nationwide, this resurgence has been made possible.

Many developers have re-entered the market with their previous records as sentiment among investors remains strong. According to information disclosed in regulatory filings, in the fiscal year 2023-24, 18 listed companies booked properties worth Rs. 1,16,635 crore. This is 33% higher than the previous fiscal year’s Rs. 88 crore. Residential properties dominate this surge. With bookings worth Rs. 22,527 crore, Godrej Properties leads the market with its bookings. Prestige Estates Projects secured the second position with bookings worth Rs. 21,040 crore.

DLF, the largest real estate company in the country, holds the third position with bookings worth Rs. 14,778 crore. Lodha Brand developers booked properties worth Rs. 14,520 crore. Signature Global Group stands at Rs. 7,270 crore, followed by Sobha Limited at Rs. 6,644 crore, Brigade Enterprises at Rs. 6,013 crore, Puravankara Limited at Rs. 5,914 crore, Oberoi Realty Limited at Rs. 4,007 crore, and Kolte-Patil Developers at Rs. 2,822 crore. Tata Realty, Adani Realty, Piramal Realty, Hiranandani Group, Embassy Group, and K. Raheja Group are among the main players in the list of non-listed companies.
